G+_Dan Sarauer (N3m1sys)
Does anyone here have a favorite IDE? If so, what is it and why?
G+_Lee Crocker
There's no way to answer that without knowing what platform, OS, and language you want to use. There are a few that try to be general-purpose, but none that succeed.
G+_Darryl Medley
Delphi 2010 - because that's what I use 8 hours a day.
G+_Dan Sarauer (N3m1sys)
More of a poll than a question per se...What do YOU use? I know it can vary depending on the environment you are coding for and all that, but given we are a diverse group I thought it might be nice to see what everyone was using. I've never tried Delphi Darryl Medley, but I have heard of it. I've used Eclipse and vi/notepad mostly. I used visual studio for a while as well. Maybe there is an IDE out there we haven't heard of or didn't think of using before and someone else is using it religiously? So I ask again my friends, what is your IDE of choice? G+_Lee Crocker
Personally I've been programming over 30 years, and I don't think I've ever used any IDE for serious work. I've tried many for brief periods, but I always go back to vim.
G+_John Stoume
I've been using Sublime Text for the past couple of months and it has been very good so far.
