G+_Timothy Deck
So I took the plunge on Saturday, I rooted my first phone and flashed cm10.1 nightly. Yikes was I nervous but what a really simple process. Even on the supposedly buggy and experimental nightly build I'm finding my phone running like new. It appears that my laggy phone is now the smooth powerhouse it was meant to be. Amazing what stripping off the oem cruff does for performance. Whilst on my next phone (due Oct, no decisions yet) I will enjoy the oem experience I will definitely root again. Rooting for all!

G+_Mathew Partridge
Thank you! If I'd known getting past the door staff was so easy is have joined the party months / years ago. What I didn't realise was that during the n1 days was that when I was manually updating my n1 I was pretty much flashing an update for the official rom. ? G+_Vikram Mohan
What phone do you have? I have tried both CM and AOKP and prefer the later.
G+_Mathew Partridge
I have a gs3 and I'm trying cm10.1. I will try aokp next!
G+_Vikram Mohan
main reason i prefer aokp was the USB fast charge option. Don't remember CM having that
