G+_Phil Chung
Does anyone who has Lollipop on a Nexus 7 find that the Google Now Launcher is very laggy? Transition between homescreens are sometimes jittery and there's a large delay when I press the home button. I've switched to Nova Launcher and I don't get any such lag. G+_Rob Phelps
I have yet to receive L on my 7...not trying to hi-jack your post, but just curious when you got your update?
G+_Phil Chung
Rob Phelps? I flashed the factory image.
G+_Phil Chung
Marius Malan? Yeah, a bit disappointed, but as I said, I have no such problems if I use a different launcher. Seems to be just the Google Now Launcher.
G+_Bram Moerman
I went back to Kit Kat on my 2012 Nexus 7 WiFi. Under Lollipop it was almost a brick. I'm in no rush for Lollipop on my 2013 LTE version.
G+_Phil Chung
Well I'm mostly happy with Lollipop. I think some of the ancillary still needs some work to make it a smooth experience. Lollipop is definitely not a must have upgrade if you already have Kitkat. I reckon Lollipop is mainly laying the groundwork (64-bit, ART) for the next version of Android, maybe a point release to 5.0.
G+_Harris Hubbard Sr
I have lollipop on my nexus 7 (2013) for about 2 wks now... I use nova launcher instead of the stock google launcher.
G+_Craig Lambert
I'm wondering if this is a result of encryption being on by default. It might be worth attempting to turn it off. Doing so will require you to wipe the device though.
G+_Bram Moerman
Craig Lambert?: it's NOT the encryption. DEFAULT encryption only applies to NEW devices, and only if a pass code is used.
G+_Just Me
Bram Moerman Obviously I was troubled by so many negative comments about 5.0 on the N7 2012 so am pleasantly surprise at overall decent performance on mine thus far. Manually flashed rooted device that was running smoothly on PA w/Validus 6.1 as secondary c/o multirom. Am tempted to forgo Lollipop on either my N7 2013 or LG G pad GPE just in case Google rolls out multiple bug fixes early on. For those who can afford a new and/or refurbished N7 1st gen, they do make excellent devices for experiment with the world of custom Roms.
