G+_Mathew Hoffman
Today I was testing the Google Maps navigation on my Nexus 5, while driving home. Traffic backed up, so I turned off on a washed out dirt road. The vibration from the road shook my phone enough to cause a message box to appear. Apparently, shaking the phone while in maps is how you initiate the feedback form. Bizarre. Anyone else ever see this? Are there other apps? G+_Elizabeth Whitmire
I have it too, just checked. I've heard of this but I didn't remember until now what parts of Google's services this exists. Maybe there's more to it. But what I remember is that the trigger is your frustration, or it's inspired by that. The app isn't doing what you want, so you shake the device, and it offers to take a feedback report. G+_Mark Scholes
It's a very silly ui design
G+_Gregory Benn
To Elizabeth Whitmire's point, I can see where this type of response works- however for navigation where road bumps may occur? On a related note, I wonder how many people shook to submit feedback and ended up dropping or tossing their device? Whoops!
G+_Damian Dalle Nogare
I discovered this when maps wasn't working for me and I... shook my phone in frustration. I thought it was quite brilliant, actually.
