G+_David Herron
My wife just got her first smartphone (I know, I know), and Verizon synced her contacts from her old phone into the new one, but those contacts are not populating into her Google account (she also only recently got a Google account). Google's support page on this says that there's "no need to import" because "Android contacts are synced with Google automatically." But that's not happening. Any help? G+_Robert Marshall
Check whether the contacts are listed as Google Contacts or My Phone Contacts. The latter don't sync.
G+_Corey Fields
They're listed as "backup" contacts. There has to be a way to do it so that you wouldn't have to enter them all manually.
G+_Julie Wills
I think you'll need to export the contacts from the phone and import them to her Google account. Different manufacturers may have different approaches for "local" (to the phone) contacts. Once done, as long add she's syncing her Google contacts, everything will sync both ways with her Google account.
