G+_Jonathan Plutchok
Since an automatic system software update a few days ago, my Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) is hanging and rebooting itself frequently -- about 8 times a day. The spontaneous reboots seem to occur mostly when receiving calls and sometimes when playing podcasts in DoggCatcher. After a reboot, usually the home screen icons are unresponsive until I pull down the notification shade and tap a link there. After I close whatever app I tapped, the home screen is OK. I bought this phone unlocked in the US, but it appears to come from Germany. I am using it overseas, not with a US carrier. The Android version is still 4.4.2 as it was before the recent update, and I don't know what was updated. I did not find any other reports about this. Is this a common problem? Is there a solution? I sure hope you can help. --from Jonathan in Israel
G+_Elizabeth Whitmire
Back up everything, then do a system reset. That should fix it.
G+_Jonathan Plutchok
Thanks, that's good advice... but I'll treat it as a last resort due to the time it will take.
