First I will start with the positives, I love that it is a very diverse set of engineers and developers working on this from across the globe, also nice that they are focusing on a clean bare bones OS no bloatware. 

 

But if I read this right that means cyanogen is really and truly out on the One Plus One and these guys are in. For you OPO users was the attraction the cheap phones the OS or both? Does this change your thinking of OPO?

Ever since owning a "true" Nexus (the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon didn't really count.... FU very much Verizon!), the Nexus 5 on T-Mobile, I haven't felt a need to even root it, let alone put a custom ROM on it.  And, with every update to Android, that need/want diminishes even more.

 

So, if I were looking at the OPO, I would get it for the hardware, not the OS.
