G+_Tim Warnock (spiderdog1
Android 7 - Do Not Disturb mode I find the stock do not disturb mode pretty useful for silencing the phone while sleeping. I allow calls and SMS through for work calls (yippee), but I'd also like to be able to allow certain app notifications to come through. For example, I want all audio and visual notifications turned off while I sleep, since the phone is on a dock bedside (that 6P screen is awfully bright at 3am). I would however like to have my Ring (doorbell) app to always notify, just in case we get some late night activity at the front door. I did some app store searching but didn't find any apps that might be able to replace the built in do not disturb function. Any one find anything in this area or have a better idea? G+_Joseph Cappellino
Go into Settings --> Apps --> Ring --> Notifications --> Override Do Not Disturb
G+_Michael Kizer
Hmm, no such setting in Android 7.0 Only options to never show notifications, show silently, and how to display on the lock screen. Was yours on Samsung or a custom ROM?

G+_Joseph Cappellino
I also have the System UI Tuner enabled, but that shouldn't do it.
G+_Michael Kizer
That's weird. Mine is the same as yours but I don't have the last option to override. Is that available on all of your apps? I have the UI tuner enabled too.
G+_Joseph Cappellino
It is. I'm not sure if I did anything special. The only other thing I can think of is that I came from the Developer Preview.
G+_Michael Kizer
Yeah, I've been on the dev preview for a while too. A mystery to solve! ;-)
G+_Michael Kizer
Perhaps Google is doing some A/B testing with options. I found an option in the UI Tuner called Power Notification Controls. I turned it on, and now I have a slider for each app in Settings->Notifications that allows 6 different levels of notification. It's a little convoluted, but I'll give it a test even though it doesn't explicitly say it will override the Do Not Disturb function. https://goo.gl/photos/in5LGdodyGbv1cNd7
