G+_Todd Miller
Microsoft is finally retiring the Skype Android app for Froyo and below. Is it a coincidence that this comes immediately after the Android distribution numbers were just released (as discussed on AAA this week)? Now that Froyo has accounted for less than 1% of active users for three months in a row, it certainly makes sense to drop all support. I imagine it's only because Skype has so many users that they've tolerated support for such a small percentage for this long. Anyway, I just thought this was interesting considering the show discussion and Daniel Bader's explanation that the distribution numbers were intended to let developers know when they should drop support for earlier versions and focus on the latest devices. DIE, FROYO! DIIIIIIE!!!
