G+_Ken H
Not to knock Ron Richards' app this week but you can "text expand" by default in Android with the Personal Dictionary. Once you set up a word or phrase or whatever you can click on that in the dictionary and set up a shortcut. I have one for my gmail because it's kinda long so when I just type the letter "g" it will come up as a suggested item in the 3 suggested words at the top of the keyboard (no extra app needed). I mean it doesn't do the auto replace like that app can in it's settings but for how I type I'd rather have it suggested anyway. That and you know, less apps... yada yada. I do like the dynamic varibles though Just figured I'd share this for people that may not know that you can do it
G+_Chris Taylor
Good tip. I wonder if SwiftKey has this ability as well? I'll have a look!
G+_Paul Werner
Chris Taylor yep, I'm pretty sure they would. I mean I've seen other keyboards do the same. I just never used SwiftKey
G+_kevin blanchette
It's the date options that matter for me. You cannot do that with the personal dictionary.
G+_Molly S.
I'm pretty sure you can't do this with the default samsung keyboard, though, as there seems to be no Personal Dictionary settings anymore, though I swear there used to be. I'd love to be proven wrong, though.
