G+_Caleb Flatten
Need some help. Recently since 4.3 my phone is no longer being able to update or download certain apps. I keep getting invalid package errors or error 497 when apps try to download from google play. I looked it up online but it appears it's something Google needs to fix. I have already reset cache on the app etc. I'm just hoping there is a solution.
G+_James VanDieren
I'm running into this on my new Nexus 7, too. :-\
G+_Joseph Cappellino
I've heard that deleting your Google account from the device then adding it back helps resolve this.
G+_Jo Welde
Joseph Cappellino yes, deleting/adding back my G account fixed the issue for me.
G+_Dan Shernicoff
Had this too (it's very likely to happen if you tried to force the OTA) deleting your account and then adding it back.
G+_Caleb Flatten
mark r Yep tried that today and the problem is still here.
G+_Jo Welde
Caleb Flatten did you reboot after you deleted your account and before adding it again?
G+_Caleb Flatten
Jo Welde Oops did it while I was in a hurry and didn't reboot my phone.
G+_Caleb Flatten
:\ That fix didn't work for me even with a reboot after removing the account.
G+_Paul Werner
I'm hoping for a solution too. For me on my N4 and N7(2012) I only have the issue if it's an app update when connected to WiFi. When updating via cell data or tethered it works every time so I'm doubting that removing the account and adding it back will resolve it as you've found already but I personally didn't try that yet. If you find a resolution to this Caleb Flatten then let me know because I'm sick of having to switch back to cell data and hooking my N7 to tethering to get apps to update. Oh and by the way, if I'm on Wifi and I am installing an app for the first time then it'll install without issue (another reason for me thinking this is on Google's end)
