G+_Gary Santos
I downloaded and installed the #KitKat factory image on my N4. It wiped my phone (which didn't totally surprise me) but now I can't turn Google Now on for my Apps account - Google Now is working wonderfully on my N7 which got the OTA (sideloaded albeit) but when I try on my N4 I don't get the option to turn Now on. If I switch to my straight GMail account it works with no problems (other than the minor detail that that's not where my calendar is...) Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks! G+_Jess Newcomb
Dan Shernicoff I and many others are experiencing this issue with the Nexus 5 and Kit Kat. If it is the same issue now is not showing up because it is not able to log in and load. Have been working with tech support on this no fix yet from them. However there is a google forum thread that has a fix using root and going back to an earlier version of search turning now on and then updating. Will paste the links here. video of what my phone is doing. And https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/PUNmDxzZulc%5B201-225-false%5D a link to the forum, the fix is on the last pages. Good luck with it.
G+_Jess Newcomb
I myself do not want to root the Nexus 5 and void the warranty on a phone that is only a few days old.
G+_Dan Shernicoff
I don't want to root my phone either - this is just depressing. I'll use my GMail account but then I lose my calendar :(
G+_Jess Newcomb
I understand that if tech support gets me a fix I will post it here and on the google group forum. Hopefully it comes soon. They even sent me a new phone which makes no sense but I tried with it to no avail but hopefully that at least gets me to the next level of support. G+_Jess Newcomb
Dan Shernicoff Me too! My main gmail account is tied to everything so google now just won't be the same if I have to use a different account to access it.
G+_Dan Shernicoff
Thanks. I appreciate it. It may be a login issue as someone said in one of the threads that signing out and back in eventually took care of it. I thought it might be some new setting in the admin panel but I couldn't find anything. FWIW I'm using the free apps grandfathered in...
G+_Jess Newcomb
I have all but wore out my fingers and screen signing out and back in. Since I have received the replacement phone I am hoping they escalate my support to the next level.

G+_Dan Shernicoff
Found a fox that worked. Toggle location history off and on (make sure it's on in the end) and logout and then login to search. Google Now should now work!
