G+_Joseph Cappellino
I don't think this will actually fix battery drain. If anything, I think it will make it worse. The cache exists to aid long (and expensive) I/O calls, and in essence, making the phone quicker to respond. If a running app requires data, it must first look in the cache. If it doesn't exist, it must then retrieve it. Depending on its location (storage, generated, or worse, network), this could cause even worse battery drain. This is similar to "Temporary Internet Files" that "plagued" Internet Explorer. It is designed to make things faster (though it does take up finite space on the disk). So, the only thing this will really fix is "low disk space" errors.

G+_Corey Fields
Moto X has amazing battery life. Anyone having a problem has a rogue app hogging juice (like the Nike Running app is famous for). Just find and kill the app. The "solution" in this article will only make your phone respond slower. The cache has nothing to do with battery life.
