G+_Tory Harmon
This is an interesting, even compelling media player. I really like the elaborate playlist options and use of animation. Looking forward to the Chromecast support! A few points to consider.. first, it's a music app. I couldn't find ANY audio settings, nor did I see anywhere to access the equalizer. I'd consider myself a power user and if I couldn't find it in 5 minutes, then it needs to be redesigned. Your biggest competition is PowerAmp and maybe Shuttle.. PA has had fine grained audio controls and other features like crossfading on manual track changes' since gingerbread. In the latest alpha, there is a hi-def audio engine and aptX hi-res Bluetooth streaming. These things may not be important to most, but they're everything to me. I mentioned I love the level of control on the playlist and really throughout the UI.. Many other music player apps are overly simplistic and leave you wanting more....however, I do feel like it may feel a bit cluttered to many, and the icons are not always intuitive as to what they do.. again, this is my first impression. Perhaps using it a bit more would alleviate that. Also, I'd love to see a cleaner folder view. I mainly listen to music I load to my SD (biggest reason I will never buy a phone without expandable storage..) and it's already organized how I want. Libraries or databases make it more confusing to find the album's I want and your app is no different. Hence a more detailed view organized in its folder hiearchy would be my preference.. but perhaps I'm an outlier. Anyway, the app is beautiful and full of potential. I already like it better than Shuttle, by far, so keep it up! I look forward to future releases!
