G+_George Byers
So this isn't really any different to what they were doing with "unlimited photos" anyway...

G+_Richard Tan
This is different mate, it allows 1080p videos and also 16mp resolution, a step up over the old one where it was around 4mp resolution (2048x2048) and 15 minutes of I think 720p video
G+_George Byers
Richard Tan interesting, so does that mean even though I selected original, the photos uploaded wouldn't count towards my usage since my oneplus is only 12mp?
G+_Mark Stronge
George Byers Original means "full resolution that counts against your quota". It will use your storage.
G+_Blair Skinner
Richard Tan So if I'm on a nexus 5 and the resolution is 1920x1080, I can just choose high quality, and it will still upload at my original resolution?
G+_Mark Stronge
Blair Skinner that's right, you need to choose high quality. I think Google is using .WebP to save your photos
G+_Richard Tan
Yes, if I understand it, if the pixel count on the X and Y Axis does not exceed 16 million pixel it will upload at that resolution, however it will be converted to Webp which doesn't bother me. The 1920x1080 is only 2 million pixel btw. Nexus 5 has an 8 mega pixel camera. ? If you select original, it will upload at that resolution plus the format it was in, like jpeg. I wonder if they will ever support raw directly...
G+_Ben Lee
Yeah it uses webp by looks of it an op is correct, high quality is same as was previously. Still maxes resolution out at 2048x2048 very disappointed.
