G+_Phil Chung
Has anyone installed Gmail 5.0 from the APK and set it up to access an Exchange account? How well does this work? Will I still have to keep the Exchange Activesync account set up (in Settings -> Accounts) to sync calendar and contacts or will Gmail 5.0 set up sync for calendar and contacts too or maybe tap in to the existing Exchange account information to sync email? I'm looking forward to replacing the default mail app on my HTC One M8 for Exchange mail.
G+_Donnie Yandell
I had it for a few hours but liked Inbox so I went back to the old Gmail and the old exchange email. When you set it up, you can add an account and that is where you add the Exchange account. It sets up just like the Exchange app. Enter Username and password, wait to church server etc. I completely deleted my old exchange account. Email and calendar worked fine. G+_Phil Chung
Kevin Gamin? There's another App you need to install for Exchange support I believe. I'm going to wait for the official release, but just wondering if anyone had any experience with it. When Gmail 5.0 is released I'll probably use that exclusively for email. G+_Phil Chung
Donnie Yandell? Great, that's what I wanted to know. Thanks.
G+_Donnie Yandell
If you install the apk there is a second app for exchange.
G+_Donnie Yandell
You have to look for it. I think I found both on Android Police but not sure. If you have problems finding it, send me an email and I will see if I can find my copy.

I'm waiting for official release.
G+_Neil Sedlak
I got GMail 5 through the Play Store and it does not seem to have the Exchange piece. It only offers Google and IMAP/POP account options. It appears that the Exchange Services feature isn't rolling out on the same schedule.
G+_Andrew Gorgi
Keep in mind that you''l have to force close Gmail to get Exchange to work the first time around.
G+_Neil Sedlak
Andrew Gorgi? I've rebooted. The exchange option apparently doesn't show up for everyone or maybe only for those that sideload the second apk
G+_Andrew Gorgi
Neil Sedlak That's what I mean. If you side loaded you'll have to fc or reboot
