G+_Michael Keepper
Jason Howell? To Jason: In AAA#313 thanks for bringing the "Libby" Library app to the Arena. Great app! I should point out that the Libby app is for libraries with the Overdrive service. There is another service put out by 3M called "Cloud Library". Both services offer ebooks and audio books. Most libraries subscribe to one or the other, but a few offer both. Need to check with your local public library to see which service they offer. Encourage them to subscribe to one or the other, Overdrive or 3M. Great way to get library books without the visit to the library via the Internet from home! Both apps work on IOS and Android on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.txtr.android.mmm https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.txtr.android.mmm
G+_Michael Keepper
Tim Lewis?? I think Hoopla may be a separate service from Overdrive and 3M. Maybe Midwest Tape has its own subscription service that libraries can join. I sent them a message asking for the details. Overdrive and 3M are the two dominant library ebook & eAudio services. G+_Michael Keepper
Tim Lewis? I received a quick response from Hoopla developers. Their service is from Midwest Tape and is not affiliated with either Overdrive or 3M. It can be expensive for a library to subscribe to a digital library. My library used to be with Overdrive which cost $3,000 a year. We switched to the 3M Cloud Library which is only about $600 a year. Been very happy with the service.
