G+_Brandon Sudat
I have an upgrade with #VZW I can't use without losing unlimited data. Been thinking of switching to #TMobile. How is it in SF Bay Area?
G+_Kevin Spitzer (JaguarXT
Awesome. From Santa Rosa to San Jose. I travel from north bay to south bay. The T-mobile service is good. The only areas I have problems with T-Mobile in the Bay Area is the same areas that I had problems with VZW (like west Marin (Stinson Beach). But otherwise T-Mobile is good. Like Leo said, T-Mobile is good in north bay. I live in Novato, one city below Petaluma and I get good service. South Bay T-Mobile LTE is extremely fast. Faster than comcast speeds. Within a year T-Mobile is going to finish putting LTE in the bay area. But the 4G speeds are very fast. Even Leo says that he is getting faster speeds from T-Mobile 4G than he got from VZW LTE. I found that to be true as well. I sometimes go through 20gb to 40gb of data a month. I use T-Mobile Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan. That is their true high speed unlimited plan without throttle down your speeds. The other data plans will slow you down after using x amount of data. G+_Kenneth Shields
You can upgrade and keep unlimited but you have to pay full price for the phone.
G+_Kevin Spitzer (JaguarXT
I believe that is why this person is shopping around. If you going to pay full price for the device then why not shop around for lower monthly service price and still get everything unlimited? ? G+_Brandt Geiger
Brandon Sudat can't you pay full phone price and keep unlimited data. That's how is suppose to work. The switch 3G to 4G LTE phone with unlimited plan, is true unlimited on 4G phone !! Because VZW dose not have separate Hot Spot data plans anymore. VZW dose charge $20 just to use their Hot Spot app but their is no data limit. That $20 charge is only for people that still have unlimited data plans. ? G+_Matt Rosenberg
Wow that's pretty beat. So that's how they get you to drop your unlimited data. I have att and if they ever pull that maneuver I'm going to look elsewhere also.
G+_Brandt Geiger
If someone use LOTS of data. It cheaper to buy the phone at full price. I'm using like 30 GB a month! On the unlimited data plan!
G+_Kevin Spitzer (JaguarXT
Yes I agree that it is well worth spending the full price of the device (in either outright or in payments) to save money on the true unlimited data plans. I use 20gb to 40gb of data a month. I just find T-Mobile Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan with unlimited talk & text much more affordable than VZW plans. Which is one of the reasons that I left VZW for T-Mobile. ?
G+_Brandt Geiger
I use PDANet+ app and it bypasses the $20 VZW Hot Spot app. It only works on a couple VZW phone with Jelly Bean so far since with Jelly Bean VZW blocked the bypass HOT SPOT apps
G+_John Adams
I think Ron Richards aka. Rene has #Tmobile and spends lots of time in the SF area. Pretty sure he's happy with coverage. He does complain about throttling. But he uses like 10gb a month.
G+_Kevin Spitzer (JaguarXT
Yes, that silly and wonderful Ron. He didn't go for the T-Mobile Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan. That is the true, no throttle, unlimited high speed (4G/LTE) data (no throttling ever), unlimited data plan (no extra cost unlimited data). With other "unlimited" data plans you don't to pay for extra minutes. Meaning one price pays for both limited high speed data (up to x amount per month) and unlimited low speed data afterwards at no extra cost. Meaning you get throttled over the X amount of minutes instead of being charged. Which is why those "unlimited" plans cost less than the Unlimited Nationwide 4G (high speed) Data plan. That is the confusion. That is why I tell everyone to go for the T-Mobile Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan instead of the other data plans. The "4G" in "T-Mobile Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan" means that you get unlimited high speed (4G/LTE) data services with one price per month. G+_Brandon Sudat
brandt geiger I can pay full price. I have been planning on buying the Galaxy S4 off contract, but I'm not really excited about it. My Galaxy Nexus is working fine and I'm getting more annoyed with the lack of selection on Verizon. If the HTC One or the LG Optimus G Pro suddenly became available, I wouldn't consider switching. I love the coverage but I dislike not being able to get an unlocked device due to CDMA technology. G+_Brandon Sudat
Also, I average 8-10 gigs a month, so tiered data is an expensive proposition.
G+_Stephen McGann
I'm still on Verizon's unlimited plan and I have an accumulated upgrade too. I was really hoping for an LTE Verizon Nexus 4 (but not holding my breath) at IO. Not sure what I'm going to do now,
G+_Aaron Wiggin
Don't forget if you have another line you can transfer the upgrade to that line get the new phone and then just activate the phone on the unlimited line.
G+_Brandon Sudat
Unfortunately since Verizon closed the dumb phone loophole, that won't work for me.

G+_Brandon Sudat
Now that there's a Developer version of the S4 coming to Verizon, they may be sticking around. We'll see when it comes. Thanks for the info on T-Mobile! http://www.droid-life.com/2013/05/23/samsung-galaxy-s4-developer-edition-for-verizon-coming-soon/
G+_Kevin Spitzer (JaguarXT
I don't know if that is true. In I/O they said this version will only be ATT and T-Mobile. Basically GSM. But this is true then this would be nice for vanilla Android experience users of Verizon services.
G+_Brandon Sudat
This is different from the Vanilla Android version announced at I/O. It has TouchWiz, but its bootloader is unlocked. Basically, they're letting you do whatever.
G+_Kevin Spitzer (JaguarXT
lol. Samsung Galaxy devices on T-Mobile never had the bootloader locked. So I was not thinking about that.
