Before I get started, let it be known that I love Google and am not bashing on them or anything, just things I think they could or should do with the platform

1. (probably the most controversial) I think they could / should "make" their own "Franken-Phone", made up of the better components of each flagship from the OEM the generation before (so in this case, the G3, M8, S5, Moto X, etc) if say Samsung had the better screen, could ask Samsung to build a custom screen on a similar level to that device, HTC to build speakers somewhat on par to the M8 and so on, they could refresh this device every two years possibly, they could opt to use Samsung's chips or Snapdragon (depending on who they believe would fit better), as for the build of the device they could switch off every iteration, for example Motorola might be asked to make a custom body similar to the Moto X, and then next time they could say have a body similar to the G4, or Sony could be asked to make the body. Of course Google would PAY the OEMs for these parts and the OEMs can opt out of lending their assistance when they please. Google would then be in charge of putting the device together and optimization of software, and most importantly selling this device at near production cost or say $300 to $450

2. If Google WERE to make this device, for them to ACTUALLY MARKET it similarly to Samsung and the S6, and Apple with the iPhone 6, showing off it's great build quality (hoping at least!) impressive battery life (again, hoping) camera and such while stating that it's always up to date on the latest version and showing how simple Android is to use (the reason I state this is because there seems to be a misconception that Android is hard to use and does way too much for a lot of people, so much that they're willing to spend twice the amount on other phones that are "more simple"). They could also DEFINITELY market the Play Store more as it's pretty surprising how not many people know about Google Play Music and Movies and the rest, I think Google should spend less effort trying to make money off of the PHONES and more money off of PLAY, showing viewers in commercials that they can have their music and movies across ALL DEVICES and can store up to 50,000 songs for free and cheap movies they can rent or buy etc, but just to actually have ads and commercials showing these off to people.

If they've attempted any of this before and I've just been in the dark about it for all these years then my apologies, but it seems like at least the advertisement of their Play Services could be done at the very least, I've thought of SEVERAL they could do already and I know they have bright minds over there so if this WEREN'T discussed prior, I'd be surprised, does anyone else think this or am I alone on it? Has any of this been attempted by them in the past? Are there reasons I'm not aware of as to why they CANNOT do any of these?

Edit : I know the EXACT same components wouldn't work, what I was expecting (at the very least) is that they could have some of builders of the devices chipping in and working with them to make somewhat on par components

Hardware deals would be difficult to pull off. The display for example would either have to be the exact one from the S5 (so exact same dimensions and wire configuration) or they will just end up making new custom pieces. Those m8 speakers wouldn't fit on an s5 body. Also, besides fit there's the matter of hardware drivers. The OEMs don't like to give up their kernel source. Beyond that, manufacturers want to put their time and infrastructure in to making their own devices, and of course there's always the lawyers.

As far as marketing play, yes. Google could do more of this. Everyone knows about the iTunes store, and even Spotify for music, but Play All Access? It's really only known to power users.
