G+_Kenny “KitkatRai” Rouss
Hey all, since Android Pay is "out" now I've had a bit of a question, as you may know Android Pay will handle NFC payments for Android devices, I've been using Google Wallet for about a year now (have the card too) and of course, hearing of the new Google Wallet app, I downloaded that, the current phone I have however does NOT have NFC (GPE Moto G) so I'd like to know, since I currently have TWO Google Wallet apps, will I get the update to "Android Pay" or will it just skip over non NFC devices if anyone knows? I doubt non NFC devices would get any benefit with Android Pay, just curious really
G+_James Chao
Got the same setup here. I have trouble getting Android Pay to with as the app refuses to open.
G+_Mike Matsco
I opened Wallet (old icon) and it asked me if I wanted to remove the old icon. I said yes and then installed "Google Wallet (New)". Then opened new Wallet, signed in, and assigned PIN. Finally, I opened the Android Pay app and added my Google Wallet MasterCard to it. This worked for me and your mileage may vary. Good luck.
G+_James Chao
Mike Matsco? okay thanks for the info. My old Google Wallet still only shows the Android Pay coming soon message, and haven't asked me to remove the old icon. Maybe something still needs to be rolled out for my account. I'll just wait. Thanks.
G+_L I
So we have to re-add our cards? That sucks.
G+_Mike Matsco
Lionel D? No. Just the Wallet card. It was never in the app before because you always used Wallet so if you wanted to use your Wallet balance you would select that. Android Pay is separate from Wallet now, so if you want to use your Wallet balance just select your Wallet card.
