G+_Dan Robinson
What apps or tools do you all use for organizing your Digital Pictures? I am hoping to find something that allows me to create tags for events and people and stores that in the jpg metadata rather than some proprietary database, so that if I send 50 pictures to someone, the metadata is there as well. I looked at Picasa many years ago bit didn't invest enough time to know if it would work here.
G+_Eddie Foy
Windows, Mac, or Linux? I'm thinking Windows, since most people like iPhoto on the Mac. I used to use AceDsee (or something like that) on Windows and thought it was good. But that's a long time ago. But sometimes the older stuff/versions fits better without all the extra bloat (ie:Nero CD burner) Linux? I dunno. I don't use it for daily driving, just dirty work. G+_Wayne Black
I've found Picasa easy and fast. Not a lot of editing though
G+_J Miller
I use Picasa for everything now, but it is computer based and a pain in the ass if you have to back it up or reinstall Windows. I also fear Google will drop it soon and all my hard work with tags and face recog will go to dust. I am thinking of moving all of my photos to G+ and use their face recog and tagging. Here is a how to I plan on using soon. It might be a bit dated since it was posted over a year ago, but It should still be a good starting point. http://www.trip.me/blog/moving-photos-picasa-google-plus/ Try Picasa as it works great, just dont get too use to it as I fear Google will drop it at one point or another.
