G+_Rami Kattan
KH guys, your last show was about converting analog video to digital format, but your source is a modern analog. Any idea on how can we convert the (even more analog) Super 8 cinema films? I have few from my baby/childhood that I want to convert to digital. Also would be great if you have tips on converting negatives/slides to image files on the computer. I got a $100 negative scanner, but the quality of the colors is less than desired. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_8_film
G+_Vincent Tompkins
A crude way would be to point the projector at a wall then try and Gen-Lock a digital camera to it. Doable depending on how intimate you can get with the shutter on the projector. Or get a digital camera that does 60+ fps but not a multiple of the 8 mm source. Converting the slides/negatives may never give you "correct color" since the source itself may have faded. I've noticed that with mine. Color correct to your eye and save the originals. G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Ha! --- We COULD do a 8mm to Digital... but I'd need to find a 8mm projector and some film reels. :)
G+_Keith Weston
I can supply a regular 8mm circa 1957 Kodak movie projector in perfect working order (bulb replaced once) and about 100 hours of regular 8mm film of little redeeming interest. :) Oh - though I do have some 3 Stooges & Woody Woodpecker in 8mm, so it wouldn't be totally worthless.
