G+_Joseph Hurtsellers
Hey everyone; throwing this out in the hopes someone might have a solution for me. I've got an Android Rikomagic stick. It's running 4.1.1 pretty much flawlessly but with one problem. It can't use the Gallery app from Google. (Everything else from Google works). Asking around on various forums I've been told that this might be because the stick has almost no built in memory (I've got a 32G SD card that works great) but still can't see my pictures - could this because of the lack of internal storage? Is there maybe a work around? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated; thanks!
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Joseph Hurtsellers This generally due to the gallery app installed on the ROM. There are many floating around that do not support Picasa or Google+ photos. There is a flashable zip (provided you have root), that will replace the Gallery app with one that is known to work. G+_Joseph Hurtsellers
Thank you Joseph Cappellino ; could you point me in the direction of where I might find the right APK? I THINK I've got root because the device was supposed to come pre-rooted if what I'm reading is correct. thanks in advance!
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Joseph Hurtsellers The zip file below should replace your stock camera (if you even had one) and gallery apps with the ones for Android 4.2. This worked for me on my 4.1.1 Samsung TouchWiz based ROM as well as CyanogenMod 10.1 on my Galaxy Note 2. YMMV. I provide this with no warranty, and you should make appropriate backups of either the files or ROM. I bid you good luck, sir! If you do not have a custom recovery (such as ClockworkMod or TWRP), you will have to manually move files/set permissions using a file manager with root privileges, such as Root Explorer.
