G+_Joseph Hurtsellers
Ron Richards Gina Trapani and Jason Howell I know this comes up from time to time - If you want to use this question on the show if it hasn't been covered depth that would be fine; but I'd love to know the solution any way I can get it. My wife (like thousands of others) would start using G+ like I do; but she simply doesn't because she can't share her pictures to her real life friends. G+_George Sabbi
It takes just one person to start the progression... Have her start posting and telling others and the others will follow the lead
G+_Joseph Hurtsellers
George Sabbi we all know FB is inferior (and god knows I try and get people over) but when we take pictures and use auto backup; we'd love to take some of those pictures (Auto Awesome Especially) and share - but WHAT A PAIN. (a lot of time I'll send her something cool via google+ and she then tries to share what I sent her to her friends on Facebook and can't).
G+_Chad Stieb
I set up this 2 step process awhile ago so not sure if there are now better ways to set up (and there has been a recent glitch where old G+ posts are being re-posted to Facebook) the process: Step 1: create and RSS feed: here is a link on how to set up (I used the GPlusRSS option) http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/ways-google-rss-feeds/ Step 2: link the RSS feed that you created in step 1 to a service that will post to Facebook: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-use-google-as-your-social-media-dashboard-to-cross-post-to-facebook-twitter-more/ With this set-up any public post that I create in G+ then gets posted to Facebook. I guessing I got these links from a Mike Elgan post at some point in time, but I couldn't find it in order to link to that post...
G+_Joseph Hurtsellers
Thank you Chad Stieb (I love this community for stuff like that). Your post was thoughtful and great. But my issue is not being able to cross post stuff; I want to go into my gallery on my phone (either through the gallery app or the photo's g+ app) and simply share a picture or group of pictures to Facebook. (I know I can share pics that are on the phone - but I want to share the backups - especially because that's where all the Auto-Awesome stuff is.) Like you said - I can share a post - and manually or otherwise share the link to that post to Facebook. But that's asking an aweful lot from people like my wife.... or the average Facebook user who just go a new Android device for Christmas.
G+_Joseph Hurtsellers
OK everyone - I SOLVED the issue! Found an app that will do it called "Tool for Picassa" - installed it and it did what I wanted in less than a minute!!! (But still no love for Auto Awesome Debåshis DUTTA ++https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=larry.zou.colorfullife&hl=en
G+_Joseph Hurtsellers
.... Well maybe not - I'm now getting requests via email from people who want "permission" to see the album. :/
G+_Jason Howell (raygun01)
Joseph Hurtsellers Eeek. My guess is that anything with auto-awesome animations aren't going to transfer over to Facebook properly. Not to mention, FB doesn't have native support for animated GIFs so even that won't work. For auto-awesome collage photos, I've shared those on FB a few times cause its just a flat image, but again, it's totally not a smooth process. It takes me going to G+, dragging the photo onto my desktop on my computer or saving it to my phone, then posting as usual on FB while selecting that image. G+_Joseph Hurtsellers
Jason Howell Thanks !! I don't know if it's a bug or not; but when I hit the "Share" Icon on my phone when in G+, the "Write Post" Facebook thing shows up - but when I go to share it, the link isn't posted. So I end up with a stupid sounding post like: "Hey, check out the pictures from our Christmas party!" - and I get tons of: "Where are they, I can't see them?" comments. The problem is happening in the G+ app and the "photo's" app. (The "gallery" app seems to let me post one photo at a time to FB but only those on my phone - nothing in the cloud.) Thanks for all the work and the great job with all the curating too!!
