G+_Dean Chauvin
Here is a quick show idea that I think would be great for Know How. There are a lot of weather geeks out there. Let's see maybe a Lunchbox-type series on piecing together an at-home weather station. Maybe a simple setup would include an overview of some pre-made kits that already include all of the required hardware. A bigger (and more enjoyable) challenge would be to build the weather station from individually-sourced parts for maximum flexibility. A special segment could include really cool, scientific/geeky add-ons such as a PAR sensor (which measures how much sunlight is reaching the station that us used actively for photosynthesis by plants). I think a final tie-in would be to connect it all up and allow the data to be logged by a computer and maybe displayed via a webpage or something. Just an idea. Love the show!!! http://www.w8tqe.com/images/local_weather.gif
