G+_Adam Preset
Really enjoy the show. Keep up the good work! For those of us with old laptops around who have already tried squeezing more life out of them by installing Linux, how about an episode on how to install ChromeOS and build our own Chromebooks? I'm sure it will save somebody out there $250+ on an impulse purchase over the holiday season.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Hmmmmm..... Should be possible. One of the Acer Chromebooks is essentially a repurposed lower-power version of the 1830-T

G+_Adam Preset
Sad to say, I did see that, and had tried it on an old Lenovo, but then gave up when I hit a hurdle that I now cannot remember. Then I bit off more than I could chew by trying again, but the next time with a few-years-old MacBook Pro that would not boot from an SD card on which I had put Chromium. I'm sure that one was a boot loader issue. I just lost my willpower.
G+_Richard Blackman
Adam Preset I got it working fine on an old Lenovo Z61m. Booting from a USB stick and then installed locally on the hard drive. But then I installed Ubuntu on it which I think is better as a replacement for XP before its EOL.
