G+_Jason Perry
This guy has it figured out. He is up to 12 episodes on his smart house. I have to say there are a few things I am not 100% with his model; but, with the time he has spent on it there is probably a reason I am not thinking of. G+_J Miller
Wow that complicates things. Why complicate a light switch? At least with Z-Wave, you can still use the light switch if your home controller locks. There is no redundancy with his design.
G+_J Miller
I need redundancy in my home lighting. If my lighting worked as much as my WIFI or my Windows computer, I would be mad. Z-Wave and X-10 are no comparison. Z-Wave meets your definition of full duplex. and works great 95% of the time. It's that 5% I would hate to have to rely on a wireless system. Please test your system before you go all in as you will find there are faults in a wireless system.
G+_Jason Perry
Can't say I am sold on either option z-wave is closed and I am not excited about exposing simething as simple and important as a light switch or my furnace to my network. I would rather go for a "complicated" solution and isolate it from my network. As for the redundancy issue it can be built in.
