G+_Steve C
Recognize it how? That doesn't really make any sense. You will have to explain what you are talking about.
G+_Ben Cunliffe (superblit
Easy, I have an android device that I plug into the USB port and it is not found by Linux operating systems.
G+_Steve C
Do you mean something like a Mini PC or a phone? Well USB doesn't work very well in Linux, it has a way to go before it's ready for Prime Time. It won't see my Android Mini PC or my phone either. Oddly my Logitech webcam works and even the mic in it works but my USB headset won't work.
G+_Ben Cunliffe (superblit
I am trying to get a phone back to stock and the suggested way is to go through Linux and flash it through there
G+_Steve C
You will have to install the drivers for it and I doubt there are any for Linux so you will probably have to use Windows.
G+_Billy Vaughn
I don't know the answer but here are a few articles that may help. http://www.linuxjournal.com/content/making-linux-and-android-get-along-its-not-hard-it-sounds http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/39256/how-do-i-get-my-android-phone-to-connect-its-internal-sd-to-my-pc-via-usb
G+_Steve C
Billy, those articles are about how to transfer files but he wants to flash it with a new ROM so he's going to have to get the Linux system to see the phone and also need a flashing program that works on Linux and I doubt there is one of them available. He could ask on the forum at XDA-Developers. They should know if anyone does but he will have to put up with a lot of flaming while they call him stupid for not knowing that already. His only option is probably to use a flash routine that can be copied to his SD card and ran from there, if one exists for his model of phone if he doesn't want to use Window like everyone else. G+_Ben Cunliffe (superblit
This is the reason for the info.
G+_Derek J.D.
What device, what distribution of Linux, why are you flashing? You need to apply a lot of info before any help can be offered. Whoever was saying Linux USB isn't fully baked you may want to do some research first.
G+_Ben Cunliffe (superblit
It's all in the link I posted.
G+_Derek J.D.
Benjamin Cunliffe distribution you're running is not, I know for fact both Fedora and Ubuntu are both automatic with android pending on the release. You could always just use AirDROID. ? Do you have the sdk package installed? Why not just dump the rom on the device and flash using clockwork mod? G+_Ben Cunliffe (superblit
Bootloader is locked and Ubuntu is what I have because it is suggested in the link version 12.04. I have downloaded the SDK but not sure how to install it.
G+_Derek J.D.
There should be a repo to add for the sdk so you can apt-get it, otherwise you may have to make the sdk download executable and run. Fedora has the sdk in the repos.
