G+_Dan Brod
Hey, wondered if anyone could help. Please be nice I'm new! I want to install a wireless access point plugged in via Ethernet to my main router. This will specifically be for my kids, so I would like to know if I can control some of their internet surfing at router level and be able to see their search history at the router. Can dd-wrt do this or can a second router be set up to use open DNS? I want to leave my main router wireless unaffected by these controls. I know many people would be interested in this, but I for one would be very grateful for a simple guide on how to do this. Many thank yous. G+_Jason Marsh
What network hardware are you using right meow? I ask because it may be possible with what you already have. Edit: The OS of the devices they use might also be leveraged toward your goal. Windows Family Safety might work for you.
G+_Ben Reese
You should be able to use Open DNS on any router. If you can install DD-WRT, I think there's an option to send logs to a machine on the network.
G+_Lance Pelissier
Ben Reese I tried Open DNS on many bands of routers Yes if you it's an super choice if DD-WRT can't work, but I wound also remand since it's free an good introduction to get feet wet with before you even try DD-WRT.
