I liked the discussion on App development in emerging countries.  after 10 years of living in Korea working in the education field where internet access was ubiquitous and speeds at home and on 3G/4G LTE were down right obscene.  I just came to Malaysia where my 3G service only trickles in a signal in the rear 2 rooms of the house i'm staying. in the front room or in front of the house, there is no signal until i walk 50m down the road.

I'm trying to consult with some teachers in this small start-up international school how to integrate mobile learning, but the resources phones & PCs had access to in Korea are so very different here.  I thought my battery died fast in Korea due over use, but it dies even faster as the phone is constantly trying to maintain a signal.

Ultimately it will make me a better at choosing appropriate mobile resource based on network connectivity. but this first week, it has been hard to get my head around how most of the rest of the world accesses wireless service.
