Does anyone know if you can put ddwrt on sagecom routers provided by windstream I have an extra I can brick to see if it works but wondered if it was worth my time?

If it's a router/modem combo, it's very unlikely there will be 3rd party firmware available. Most ISPs frown on customers putting hacked modems on their networks.

Ben Reese Thanks other Ben beat me to it. OpenWRT warns that flashing this type of gateway deletes customer data required to connect with the modem portion.

Tod Sage Yeah I know Cox here does not rent stand alone modems anymore. Have to buy your own.

 

In the US new FCC wants to let ISPs sell data about us if the fact that combined units perform terrible does not give you enough pause.
