G+_Cody Kochmann
So, bought our first XBOX this week and Im running into a hiccup with making the audio port in the controller work with my apple headphones. Thankfully there were plenty of guides online that told me that all I needed to do was turn off the microphone and explained (with this diagram) exactly why those headphones dont play nice with most standard microphone jacks. The thing that bugs me is this is a stupidly simple problem that just requires the bottom two connections to be reversed in an adapter. Im curious if anyone knows about an adapter that would do that crossover for me? if not, im gonna have to tear apart an audio extension cord in order to throw one together myself. Thanks everyone in advance!
G+_Eddie Foy
Could make a short adapter cable. Would look like an extension cable.
G+_Ben Reese
They make cords to split them out to output & input. Could get one designed for iPhone and one standard then connect them.
G+_Tony Martin
If I am not mistaken what you are looking for is an OMTP to CTIA adaptor. Please look it up to ensure this is indeed what you need.
G+_Ben Reese
Found the solution: cablechick.com.au - 4-Pole TRRS Standards Adapter OMTP to CTIA Bi-Directional That page gives some information on what it's doing, but I don't care for rigid adapters. There are other OTMP/CTIA adapters on Amazon, but many reviews say they don't work... Good luck!
G+_Ben Yanke
Ben Reese? you're not alone! I can't stand rigid adapters except in very limited circumstances.
