G+_John Downey
I am planning on purchasing a 3D printer. I have looked at the Monoprice's Dual Extrusion 1.75mm ABS/PLA/PVA 3D Printer. Has anyone used this or knows anyone who has used it.
G+_James .Smith
Why not go to Openbuilds.com, there you can see different types of 3d printers and build from scratch for a lower cost.
G+_earlsquareling
I bought monoprices maker select 3d printer and it turns out it was a rebranded wanhao duplicator i3. The dual extrusion printer you are referring to looks a lot like the wanhao duplicator i4. I cant speak much to the i4 but the i3 has been good out of the box, but there is a big support group on google groups for all wanhao printers with mods to do to make it print great. Go here and check out all the i4 related posts and see if its something you are up to tinkering with. If you just want to print and dont want to delve into modding then maybe another printer would be beneficial to you. The wanhao printers seem to be for people willing to learn instead of the people who want it to just work. Mine worked out of the box, but there are many small improvements to make the prints top notch. https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!forum/wanhao-printer-3d
