G+_Em Eff
Greetings to all, my first G+ post in a while so hopefully I'm using the 'UI' correctly. Recently Father Robert mentioned that he had 'a number of devices' running OpenWRT and some included it off-the-shelf. Is there a list posted somewhere? I've only found one vendor running it O-T-S, and that is the GLI series of small routers. I just obtained an AR-150 and am using it as a WAP; other uses are upcoming and I'll report back on success or not. An older version of OpenWRT is also running on my stable, 10 y/o WRT54GL. Any other experiences of note?
G+_Ben Reese
I don't know of any off-the-shelf Open-WRT routers, but Buffalo and I think a couple others make some DD-WRT routers. Example: Buffalo AirStation HighPower N600 Gigabit Dual Band Open Source DD-WRT Wireless Router (WZR-600DHP) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0096239G0/ Similar in features would be the Ubiquiti Edge Router X, but it doesn't include WiFi. Has a lot of pro-level features at a very affordable price. amazon.com - Amazon.com: Buffalo AirStation HighPower N600 Gigabit Dual Band Open Source DD-WRT Wireless Router (WZR-600DHP): Computers & Accessories
G+_Em Eff
Funny you should mention the EdgeRouter X - I have one. EdgeOS is Debian based, quite flexible but the main attraction is the very active community. IMO DD-WRT is crap. Static image with no package repositories. Usually some version of OpenWRT will run on a DD-WRT capable router. The GLI routers can be seen here: https://www.gl-inet.com/ Amazon stock ships quickly to the US. Ebay is slower but no $50 minimum purchase :-(. +Bryan Burnett +Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
G+_Ben Reese
Interesting. DD-WRT has done most of what I need, but I'll have to check out Open WRT.
