G+_Edward Coffey
Anyone know of a good app to keep a folder synced to a PC over the local network? Looking for: - completely local, not via the cloud - option to auto sync only while charging - reasonable speed - resilience to interruptions - fairly standard protocol, e.g. SFTP rather than a custom app installed on the PC - not-horrible UI
G+_Bret Greenstein
Bittorrent sync.... Works great!
G+_Paul Graham
I use the free version of an app in the play store called SyncMe. I sync multiple folders from my mobile device across the local network to my storage server, it's with a look.
G+_Richard Cohen
Foldersync sounds like it'd do what you want...
G+_Kevin Twingstrom
You could always use Tasker. I feel like it would be a fairly easy profile to set up
G+_Dave Harding
I use https://syncthing.net It's completely open source unlike Bittorrent sync?
G+_Mark Stronge
Dave Harding it looks like syncthing has a lot of issues https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing-android/issues/
G+_Edward Coffey
Bittorrent Sync seems to do the job. Needs a client running on the PC, but at-least they have one for Linux. Can't do the only-while-charging thing, but I'll live. Had one corrupted file, but I was really abusing it at the time. Thanks, Bret Greenstein. G+_L I
Folder Sync is great. Lots of options and can sync with both FTP/SFTP and SMB/Windows shares locally - as well as all the cloud options. You can even restrict by wifi hotspot name and it resumes interrupted/failed attempts as soon as you're back on that wifi.
G+_Edward Coffey
Thanks, Lionel D, I'll take a look at FolderSync as well.
