G+_Bob Clingan
I want to mount a 3-4 foot strip of LED lights under the cabinets above my work area. This looks pretty simple with a HUE light strip, but kinda expensive. Can this be achieved in DIY fashion more affordably? Pointers to any previous episodes that might be helpful are appreciated. I'm a relatively new viewer so I'm sure there may be something out there.
G+_Ben Reese
5050 LED strips are cheap, but all lights are the same color. WS2812 is what you want if each one needs to be a different color. I'm looking at the same type of project for some of my cabinets.
G+_Bob Clingan
Not too worried about color, although I would like to control with Alexa
G+_Ben Reese
That's all in the circuit board you choose to control it with. Haven't gotten that far myself, but a Raspberry Pi Zero-W or ESP8266 chip on an Arduino should get it connected for Alexa support.
