Hey know it all's, can you recommend a solid podcast app for android that downloads both audio and video podcast for offline playback?

I was using Podcast addict, but it is giving me a lot of problems lately.

I wish I could. Podcast One is the best I've found but it still sucks. I guess the iOS podcast app spoiled me. I truly hope someone answers this!

Brian Horovitz I see a review or 2 says there are problems since the last update. I take it you are not having these? 

Do you might sharing what phone you are running?

Will O'Meara  I see a review that says it doesn't pause when a call comes in. Do you have that issue?  or does the reviewer just need to adjust his settings?

Bruce Bridwell Wow Bruce, every review on Google play agrees with you that Podcast One sucks... I think you should be checking out Pocket casts and Beyond one. Both look good on paper (so to speak). I will pick one and try it after work and post my thoughts here.

Scotty Stock it has always paused for me, the only slight annoyance I have had with it is that it will sometimes grab priority from other media apps even if it wasn't the last used. So if I press pause on google play music with my headset or car stereo (both bluetooth) and after a while (like 5 or more minutes) press play sometimes beyond pod will play rather than GPM. I'm on the unlocked moto x.

ok, so if I have issues with either app it will probably be due to my cheapo phone then....

I used to use Dogcatcher on Android and it worked pretty well. I'm on iOS for the past few years but I assume it's still around.

+1 for Doggcatcher, I use it all the time and just noticed it has chromecast support now too, which I will have to try

So I went with pocket cast first, mostly because it was cheaper. Had some issue with the download, but I think that may have been my WiFi.

I was able to get it up and running without the instructions. So far it has been great.

Just need to look up how to make it go on to the next show when on finishs

Scotty Stock you can press and hold on an episode and click the little + in the top right and click "up next" or if you click on an episode when the details come up there will be the little + on that page. When you are in the now playing screen you can swipe left and the que will come up and you can rearrange the order they will play
