G+_John Mink
Since Trey Ratcliff literally (re)posted this two hours ago: Maybe check out Snapseed? https://plus.google.com/+TreyRatcliff/posts/MG5KASTH4m9
G+_Ben Reese
GIMP is powerful - about like photoshop. If she wants something just simple, Snapseed is probably pretty good and even programs like Picasa will have some decent photo editing features. G+_T Nohands
Here's a link to get Adobe CS2 full suite for free follow instructions and it's legal and free technically but never the less legal free use in combination with paint and better more stable than GIMP once you get into and use photoshop nothing else will be as satisfying https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html# enjoy ;) Sorry Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ CS2 still kicks Gimps but yet feel free 2 share link have any trouble Hit my email up and I'll be glade to help if u just can't get it I'll give you my download and help you set it up but once you use Adobe nothing else will do:)
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Not legal or free unless you own a copy of CS2. Adobe isn't going to come after you, but it's technically illegal nonetheless.
G+_T Nohands
Legality is debatable under the abandonment act just as legal as taking something out of someones trashcan they literally abandoned that precise product even with their legal stipulation. The fact is since they've allowed other sites to give away their product labeled as freeware such as cnet, softonic, and filehippo to which after so many years there is a statue of limitation to refute the statement as free abandonware on top of which the downloads are not copies of the actual program but are links that connect directly to adobe's servers, therefor your copy offer as free is given out by adobe itself without any attempt to reclaim or stop the software from being downloaded from their own site and say nothing about it then that qualifies as abandonware until they actually pursue action to the contradiction. There have been precedents set in courts over other software. However it's been publically suggested over and over that Adobe is doing nothing to stop or even discourage it in anyway from sites giving it away as freeware is to get people to use cs2 to compete with gimp and other freeware so if you get use to it you won't want to use anything else and they make their money by getting people hooked and enticing users to want and desire the better more features in later versions running on faster engines that those users of free cs2 will upgrade to the cloud cs6 cloud now just called cs cloud. So it has increased subscriptions according to papers sent to shareholders. It is highly unlikely they will disrupt any activities that are increasing there profits while discouraging or winning over people from using free media editors such as gimp slowing down the useage of other programs especially the young and students in school who get started in simple editing that could get hooked into a career field thats growing and generating a need for their latest software that can do things better or things that no other software can do. My advice as a user and someone whose mother was a legal secretary thus growing up with lawyer and spending time at the offices surrounded by lawyers after school till office closing time I would say and recomend using it as one of the best learning tool especially since it is still being given courses in it's use as well as being used in school and other courses hoping for people to upgrade to a familiar platform is a great option . The only caveat is I would strongly not recommend using it for any professional use or for any use to make money or income that's where Adobe will cross the line and say stop using or upgrade even though there are many companies with employees that use it but they are viewed as grandfathered in any new company and employee are expected to buy a pro version or subscription just like you can't use microsoft office home and student for any job or any business use. Most docs and media from programs like office, core;, and Adobe are tagged by the software version that was used and lawyers love their legal fees for enforcing those situations. It's the law firms on retainer that take action against those excessive violation. The companies really don't care about individuals violating such terms once and a while, what happens if you are noticed excessively the law firms send you a shame on you warning further violations receive a Cease and desist order and after that further violations then get taken to court for fines or infringements demanding aa portion or sums of any and rarely all of your profits made from use of their products, but you really have to push it beyond reasonable limits and so obvious like a major company or consultant, contracted employee, or business professional making profits worth suing over they want to stop you but only if it's profitable or you are costing them profits. So if she goes pro pay for the pro or business software if she's learning and does only the occasional project that earns a little profit then Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ is right technically illegal but they're not going do anything about it, you won't get in trouble and if she get's the bug or urge then as Leo say just get cs cloud monthly subscription where you can stop it take a break then ccome back when ever she feels like it all her work macro shortcuts and profile settings will be saved and there when she gets back, Adobe is very good about that. One last note to mention I called Adobe said I was a quadriplegic asked them since I haade a copy of photoshop way before the CS version came out and wanted to know since I had to use the program using a stylus in my mouth could I download and use the cs2 fore free. If I couldn't use it like I could before I lost the use of my hands I didn't want to be frustrated at yet another activity I could no longer do, I also didn't want to pay money to find out my situation is still being more heartbreakingly frustrating yet againg on everything I could do in life. They responded that there's a free trial period I could use to find out. I went further to point out if I could make it work it would take more than their trial period to find out if not only if I could make it work for me but if I could be proficient enough to justify the price. They commented their acknowledgement of how sorry they are and can imagine how frustratingly hard and the difficulty my situation and the challenges I face in life. Which I thought was just another blow off from companies and peope who don't really care and felt like I was just wasting their time till right before we were going to hang up, the man on the phone and his manager simply came out and told me that they nor anyone at adobe could say yes or make exceptions for my situation but if I did download and use cs2 that there would be no way to tell if I was using it as to their conditions or not. They told me that The servers used to activate and process the verification of of activation keys were being shut down and repurposed so not only could they verify my ligentamancy of my ownership and legal use that I could register and start an account with Adobe to get offers and updates. Then asked for my email address before we were finished and aa few hours later I got some plug in files and templates for the cs2 version of multiple programs and links to free cs2 tutorials plus a better instruction of how to install the 3 files ment to simulated the installation cd's. Now I don't know if it was just kindness and sympathy but it was as close to saying yes to download and not worry about it as they could give me almost 2 years later I have still been using it not proficient enough to earn money but enough to try and spec out diagrams for projects inventions to make my life easier that companies and fabricators could build for me, and smo not to shabby photo editing. so if that gives you an Idea of the technicalities of using it to learn especially what the new features are doing for you automatically and get a better understanding of how each process works that new features skip in new versions so it's a better way to get a good grounding of the software and the art of using this incredibly powerful program that's ideal for laptops and systems without the high end graphics cards. I could go on and on why this is the better opportunity to take advantage of but unless you've used paint tried gimp and then used photoshop even as backdated as cs2 you won't get the best understanding about why adobe is the #1 editing software out there and why people have paid over $1,000 for the program in the past even as just a home user not even a professional. If you want to just try it out message me and tell me if you have mac or windows and I'll give you the direct download link from the adobe servers themselves so you won't have to worry about any hassles of adware or other issues. and I'll also post the link in the community so anyone else wants to try it just klick on the link sign up for an account or login if you have one select the language and enjoy cs2 then decide if you want to upgrade to CS6 the cloud version pricing plans are at this link https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud.html?promoid=KLXLR
