G+_Jared Alexander
I would like to setup a RasPi for home automation and I'm looking for recommendations of software or distros to use. The Pi would be used as the server or hub. I was looking at OpenHAB as it seems to be the most complete.
G+_Andrew Farrer
Raspian is mentioned is passing but lots of other useful stuff: http://makezine.com/projects/building-a-home-automation-system-with-openhab-to-control-leds-wirelessly/?utm_source=sumome&utm_medium=googleplus&utm_campaign=sumome_share
G+_Julian Divett
I've got both Openhab and OpenRemote running. Openhab has a more active community and seems to be progressing OpenRemote has been around longer and has better tools for building and design. G+_Scott W
I used OpenHAB for quit a while, then switched to a Vera Lite. OpenHAB is really versatile, but became too much work to write code for my sensors, then write code for OpenHAB. I am really happy with the Vera. G+_Daniel Barron
Which takes the least maintenance? I want an OS like ChromeOS that does not need sysadmining. Self updating. Once set up of course.
