G+_Timothy Hamlett
Hi Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ and everyone else, I'm trying to run a Samba server on my Android phone over the WiFi. I have IceColdApp's Samba Server (in order to send files to my phone without connecting it via USB), but it creates a share on different ports because my phone isn't rooted (I'm trying to do this without rooting it). The problem is, I can't connect to it from Windows. Is there some way to fix this without having to root my phone?
G+_Ben Reese
I use ES File Explorer and it can create an Ad-hoc FTP server. I don't think it will do SFTP so I wouldn't recommend doing this on a shared or public network, but it's good enough for an occasional quick file transfer. If you open it in Windows Explorer, it looks just like any other network share. I'll have to check out that Samba server app though...
