G+_Timothy Hamlett
Hey everyone, I just bought a USB WiFi adapter for my laptop while I'm working away from home (better reception and customization than the internal card). It uses an RP-SMA antenna, and I wanted to know if there was any antenna that you guys recommended (both directional and omni-directional). (By the way, I bought the Alfa AWUS036AC AC1200 Wireless Adapter.)
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
I believe we covered this on a KH a while back... lemme get you an episode once I'm at the studio.
G+_Eddie Foy
I have a (alleged) 25dB yagi, and a 9dB colinear (standard style) Like them both. The yagi doesn't actually seem to be that directional. Even on the back rejection. (also have a huge TP-Link parabolic)
G+_Brandon Jasper
http://www.balticnetworks.com/components/antennas.html You can get all kinds. It depends upon your needs. The thing to keep in mind with omni antennas is the higher the gain the narrower the angle at which it will receive signals. Baltic Networks is a WISP supplier so they'll have anything you need. I've got quite a few including some 3ft 30dBi 5ghz dishes for a point-to-point link that fell through as I've done some WISP work before.
G+_Adam EL-Idrissi
I order a lot through newegg and data alliance for wifi/networking. Alfa makes a directional panel antenna that's 7db I think?
