G+_Matthew Reardon
I am trying to get two dumb routers working but so far unsucessful. I was able to install ddwrt on old linksys I found in storage. See attached for diagram. I have linksys WRT54GS v7 as core router and netgear WGR614 v6 as "trusted". Really its just two really old router. Any ideas? I have attached the picture of what I did. I am not sure how to set up the "trusted" netgear router. Every time I set it up I can connect to it but windows tells me I don't have internet access. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8J3hpQxh7oXRndLUkRwc3hnems
G+_Brian Moses
Try rebooting windows while connected to netgear .... then run ipconfig to see what ip you have ... is it 10.14.1.x ... if so ping google.com
G+_Jason Brown
Just for a sanity check, have you tested them both to verify they can connect to the internet individually, using a default config? Also, for EvilPlankton, the first IP you have there, that's on the LAN side correct? You didn't set that on your WAN port did you?
G+_Black Merc
Yes, definitely check each router has full function. ..WAN LAN WIFI. I have old routers that lightning has fried the WAN port but, left the rest, so i use them as APs. Make sure each router has its own lan different from the others. G+_Matthew Reardon
Thanks for posts. Right now it is working. Not sure what is different. On the netgear router I changed a setting for "Routing Information Protocol" (RIP) to "None" previously it was "Both". Maybe that did it. When I run ipconfig I get a IPv4 address of 10.14.1.2 and I can connect to internet.
