This trend isn't new and is possibly driven by how great phones and tablets are in 2014 (remember: Everything is Awesome) and how much better the development tools are. Bigger companies ensuring that at launch or within a week the apps (mainly games) are on the 2 major platforms. Smaller companies from other countries are doing it as well. Ironhide game studio out of Uruguay (for those who are geographically challenged thats in South America) produce the awesome Kingdom Rush series (trust me get it, they are great tower defense games) The first Kingdom Rush was released on ipad a year and a half before android, the second Kingdom rush Frontiers was released 3 months on iOS before Android and the latest version Kingdom Rush Origins was released same day on both platforms. Music apps still dominate the category of iOS exclusives but the grass certainly is green (see what I did there) on the Android side P.S. Sorry for making that song get into your head once again.
