G+_David Wiggins
I know a lot of people focus on video recording on quads, but I also wanted to throw out how still photography is also rather useful. I know someone who does some work in civil engineering and such. He takes a high volume of stills with GPS info embedded in the image metadata. He then uses a program called PIX4D to render the images into a 3d model that can be printed or manipulated to show potential modifications. I was surprised to learn that the 3d model is accurate to about 1.2 inches of accuracy. So don't rule out pairing still imagery with your quads. G+_Eddie Foy
My old syma and DJI P2 does stills also. Seen people carry both, a FPV, plus a gopro or the like. (FPVs are kinda janky on image quality, scratch that, they ARE janky) But it gives you a shot of what you are looking at with the gopro for the HQ pic/vid. And if you have a gimbal, you could possibly have both cams moved together.
G+_David Wiggins
I hadn't thought about using stills from a video source. With video being what it is now, that is probably more viable than it once was. Thanks for the thought fuel.
