G+_Heinrich Angela (Heinz)
Hey guys, i have a Naze32 USB issue. From one day to the Next I can't connect my quad to CleanFlight anymore. Error: Failed to open serial port. When I connect the craft the Naze status leds blink, and after a while burn steady Red and Blue. Hitting connect in the CleanFlight interface gives me the above mentioned error. I've tried reinstalling CleanFlight with no avail. I've connected the quad to battery and powered it on, works fine, so I don't think i accidentally flashed a different Firmware to the board. Also only 'Manual Selection' available from drop-down menu. I have tried other usb ports on the same PC, and connecting to a different PC, so my guess is it's definitely the Naze board. I've been combing the web for 2 days now trying to find a solution and so far i've stumbled upon this link. But i ONLY want to short the pads as a last resort: Any and all help welcome. G+_Joshua Delaughter
I'm not familiar with the interface on the Naze32, but have you tried choosing a different COM port in the clean flight software? I've seen PCs choose a different COM port. (COM1, COM2, etc)
G+_Heinrich Angela (Heinz)
PROBLEM SOLVED Problem was not on the PC side (drivers or CleanFlight) Problem was not on the quad side (faulty hardware or config firmware) The problem was the USB cable. Apparently it provided only power, and no data. Before you bite my head off, YES, i did check if the cable had the center 2 pins, that's why I quickly ruled out the cable as possible culprit. Obviously I was wrong. Thanks to everybody who responded on my call for help. All USB cables are equal, some are just more equal than others
