G+_Michael Renyard
Hi all: I would like to use OPEN DNS on my router ( wrt 1900 ac) I can't seem to find where you replace the DNS settings. Does anyone know how to do it? Also would it be better to use DD-WRT instead?
G+_Eddie Foy
To run a DNS or just use their DNS server? If the latter its in the WAN section. DNS: 208.67.220.222 208.67.222.
G+_Eddie Foy
DD-WRT is nice. but its rather fragmented. Make sure you get the right version for your router model number and the version of the model number (MFG's release a few of the same model) Not all features of DD-WRT will be available for all routers. (VPN comes to mind) Read the forums, kikis and walkthroughs for your exact model and then decide if its worth it. (its actually pretty awesome, and not typically a bear to install)

G+_Eddie Foy
Seems page 30 of the manual has it in the DHCP settings.
G+_Michael Renyard
ill have to study that a bit more i thought that was only for internal network.
G+_Eddie Foy
Same difference. The router will just pass it along. It will give the PC's the OpenDNS ip when config'ing the interfaces. The PC's will still look to those IPs for resolving.
