G+_Brandon Cook
That's awesome. I'm getting a Glowforge whenever they finally ship. Any tips/links/resources you recommend for us n00bs?
G+_Eddie Foy
Fee air beam delivery?!?!?! Unsafe and the dust messes with the beam causing extra divergence. damn cool though!
G+_Arcturus Lancaster
Eddie Foy is exactly how Chinese laser cutters work. Unsafe bit is no housing on the machine.
G+_Ryan Parks
Only unsafe if you stick your fingers or eyes in the way. I have quite a bit of fume / dust extraction and measured power levels don't vary much from source to nozzle. I get more loss from the $30 mirrors than atmosphere. I'm don't know anything about the glow forge but for my DIY unit alignment is key. It takes regular adjustments to ensure beam delivery is aligned properly. If something is a little off it results in lower power coming out the cutting end and or uneven cutting.
