G+_James Hughes
Had some issues printing with transparent filament in my davinci this weekend. It extruded fine but the first layers didn't want to stick to the bed. I was able to get it to stick using blue painters tape. What can I use to get the first layers to stick? I don't want to use abs slurry, maybe Aquanet?
G+_James Hughes
I typically use the purple glue stick with great success for ABS at about 205 c extruder and the bed at about 95 c. But not with the transparent. I've heard that Aquanet works good, but like you said, I don't want to deal with the mess. I might try putting an extra thick coating of the glue stick. I typically use a wet micro fiber cloth to remove previous glue and to try to keep it as smooth as possible. Then I lay down two layers of gluestick going front to back and side to side. Maybe a couple more layers would help. I'll give it a try this week. If that doesn't work I may try turning up the temp on the bed a few degrees. Any other ideas would be welcomed. G+_Eddie Foy
I've been using the ABS slurry. I also do not clean the bed every print. Just a quick slurry coat. My slurry is very thin. 95%+ acetone. Also try a hotter bed temp. If its too hot, you may not be able to get the part off it will stick so well. G+_James Hughes
Wayne Hobbins? I'll try heating the bed up to 100° and two coats of glue stick. Thanks!
