So I have an antenna in the second floor attic and a tv on the first floor with no easy way to connect the two. I've been thinking that maybe a couple of arduinos with a wifi adapter on each end. I tried looking for videos on youtube for a direction without luck.

I've tried a few of those flat antennas without luck (too much obstruction). Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen any projects out there like you are talking about.

If you wanted to use an Arduino you would essentially need to build a radio and a RF transmitter.

Then you need to figure out how to stream from one to the other.

And last you need to figure out how to adjust the receiver in the attic because it is only receiving one station, unless you don't mind going into your attic to change stations.

I would also not run the transmitter into the TV until you are sure the power level won't hurt your TV.

Then I am sure there is something I am overlooking.

Coax or a HD HomeRun would be much easier, but I would love to see you find what you are looking for.

+1 for a networked OTA DVR. Then use whatever you like (HTPC, Roku, etc.) to bring the content to your screen(s). I'll be doing the same soon, and not sure which DVR I'll go with. In my case, all the TV transmitters are 42 miles away and lie within a few degrees azimuth. You'll only need to rotate your antenna for tuning if your local TV transmitters are nowhere near each other and you're using a directional antenna. Omni antennas receive from all directions (somewhat) equally. Antennaweb and others can show you where the signals are coming from and give guidance on type of antenna needed.
