G+_Alex Hulinsky
So I have a variable speed power switch for some clippers, and there are 3 wires on it, line, load, and a brown one. Can anyone tell me what the brown one is for? There is a white and black cord for the plug in, and a white and black going to the motor. where does this brown one fit in? G+_Ben Reese
The switch is essentially a potentiometer. As you slide it up, it varies the resistance between the brown and white, and brown and black. If I'm not mistaken, black and white are connected to source voltage and ground, while brown connects to positive power into whatever you're controlling.
